A combination that’s undoubtedly special, but once you’ve experienced it, you won’t give it up! You have to see it to believe it.

Dish soap and toothpaste
Two products at opposite ends of the spectrum: dish soap and toothpaste. What do they have in common? Sure, both have a cleaning action, but when combined, they give life to a super-efficient detergent.

The benefits of toothpaste

Of course, mixing toothpaste with dish soap isn’t a traditional method, but it’s certainly more than effective.
It’s a well-known fact that toothpaste is often used for many other things besides routine use on the toothbrush for daily oral hygiene. With its excellent degreasing properties, it is often used for both cleaning and personal care. Applied to nails, for example, it will help whiten and clean them. Also useful for cleaning sneakers, clothes, walls or carpets that fall victim to hard-to-remove stains.

Its composition also makes it an excellent ally for relieving itchy insect bites, as it will give an immediate sensation of relief. Finally, toothpaste is very useful for cleaning jewelry, especially silver jewelry.

So, if toothpaste is so useful for so many different situations, why not use it for small household cleanings too?

Mixing toothpaste and dishwashing soap: a super cleaner
To make a detergent that can be used at home, on objects or surfaces you want to clean and make shiny, all you need to do is make a mixture with a few simple ingredients. You’ll need dish soap (even a cheaper one will do), toothpaste, baking soda and lukewarm water. The procedure is very simple. All you have to do is pour the whole bottle of dishwashing soap into a large bowl, to which you’ll need to add a tablespoon of toothpaste. Don’t throw the bottle of soap away – you’ll need it later. Then start mixing the two ingredients, trying to blend them as much as possible. When the two substances are no longer separate, but rather a creamy mixture, you can proceed to add the other ingredients.
