· Use little water or an unsuitable pan
To cook spaghetti, use approximately 1 liter of water per 100 g of pasta. In other words, the pan must be large enough to contain them and prevent them from sticking. A quick reminder: insert the pasta only when it boils.
· Add oil so that the pasta does not stick
Another popular belief: you need to add a drizzle of oil to the cooking water to prevent the pasta from sticking. This is also a welcomed idea. The oil remains on the surface and does not adhere to the pasta. Since salt already fulfills this role, as noted above, there is no need to waste it. Another trick to prevent spaghetti from sticking: just stir the pasta from time to time during cooking.
· Rinse the pasta with cold water after cooking
This is definitely one of the most common mistakes. However, it’s a bad habit to rinse cooked pasta under cold water, as it may lose its texture. Furthermore, they are immediately more slippery and the sauce adheres less well. Don’t complicate your life anymore: after cooking the pasta and draining it, pour it directly into the sauce so that it dries well.
