Leave 5 mint leaves on the window before you go to bed – here’s why

Very often we encounter small insects that can be annoying if they become habitual co-inhabitants. We therefore try to remedy this most of the time with chemicals  which in many cases are not even very effective. In reality  , it would be enough to have one or more mint plants to solve it in a completely natural way  . The plant itself is already an excellent repellent against spiders, midges and other insects. But if you want to have a broader spectrum of action, you can count on the leaves. In fact, it will be enough to have 5 mint leaves on the windowsill in the evening and to crush them slightly to prevent unwanted insects from taking up residence in our house.

Mint leaves are often used as a natural repellent even against mosquitoes  . Inside they contain a substance called menthol, which is an essential oil with excellent repellent properties. When mint leaves are crushed or burned, they give off a strong odor that repels insects and at the same time releases a pleasant fresh aroma.

The leaves of this fragrant plant can also be used as a natural detergent to clean floors  , so that the repellent action is more lasting. Menthol has antibacterial properties that help remove dirt and prevent the growth of bacteria. They can therefore be used to clean hard surfaces such as floors and furniture, especially in the presence of insects. If you want to act in a targeted manner, however, you can easily make a repellent spray  which has mint essential oil as its main ingredient, possibly pure and organic for greater repellent effectiveness.
