Authentic Lumpia Recipe

Instructions:

1. In a large skillet or wok, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic, and sauté until fragrant and translucent.

2. Add the ground pork to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through. Break up the meat into small pieces while stirring.

3. Add the shredded cabbage, grated carrots, green beans, and jicama to the skillet. Stir-fry the vegetables with the meat for a few minutes until they start to soften.

4. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, and black pepper. Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the meat and vegetables. Stir well to combine and continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes. Remove the skillet from heat and let the filling cool.

5. Take a lumpia wrapper and place it on a clean work surface. Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the filling onto the wrapper, placing it near the bottom edge.

6. Fold the bottom edge of the wrapper over the filling, tucking it in tightly. Fold the left and right sides of the wrapper towards the center, enclosing the filling. Roll the lumpia tightly towards the top edge, sealing it with a bit of water on the edge of the wrapper.

7. Repeat the process with the remaining lumpia wrappers and filling.

8. Heat oil in a deep pan or pot for frying. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the lumpia rolls in batches, frying them until they turn golden brown and crispy. Make sure to turn them occasionally for even frying. Remove the cooked lumpia with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

9. Serve the lumpia hot with a dipping sauce of your choice, such as vinegar with garlic or sweet and sour sauce.
