How do I easily remove wallpaper with baking soda? Our tips and advice

Step 2: Preparing the Cleaner

Once the walls are finished, prepare your cleaning product. To do this you will need hot water, dish soap and a tablespoon of baking soda.

Put all the ingredients in a bucket and mix well until a homogeneous preparation is obtained. This solution is extremely effective in softening wallpaper glue and making it easier to remove.

However, if the glue is very strong, add white vinegar to your mixture. Calculate approximately 1/4 cup of vinegar per 1 liter of water. This will help you avoid purchasing an expensive stripper.

Step 3: Apply the product to the wallpaper

With your hands protected by the rubber gloves, take the sponge and dip it into the previously prepared solution. Then rub the wallpaper and let it take effect for a few minutes.

After this time the wallpaper will quickly become softer. At this point, you should immediately remove the wallpaper and wipe off the adhesive residue with a clean cloth.

Step 4: Scrape the wall

Once the wallpaper is removed, the work is not yet complete. In fact, you still need to sand the walls with a wallpaper squeegee. This scrapes the walls and removes wallpaper and glue residue at the same time. Then throw all the trash into the trash can.
