Here’s how you can make your own healthy, organic homemade mayonnaise using simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 organic egg at room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon organic Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon organic red or white wine vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher or sea salt, or more to taste
  • 1 cup (240 ml) organic olive oil or organic avocado oil
  • Optional: 1-2 teaspoons organic honey or organic agave syrup for a touch of sweetness

Instructions

  1. Combine the Ingredients: In a food processor or blender, combine the egg, mustard, vinegar, and salt. Process until well combined, about 20-30 seconds.
  2. Slowly Add the Oil: Scrape down the sides of the bowl, turn the food processor (or blender) on again, and start slowly drizzling the oil in a very thin stream. This should take about 3-4 minutes. Do not rush this step as adding the oil too quickly can cause the mayonnaise to break.
