The toilet, as we know, is subject to dirt and fouling by its very nature. In fact, how often have you noticed the black bottom of the toilet? I guess often!
It’s actually a build-up of limescale that tends to form black scale that settles on the bottom of the toilet.

But how do you get rid of it? Simple, these quick and easy methods are enough to try! Let’s see them together!

baking soda and vinegar
The first remedy we propose you is to combine baking soda and vinegar, which are really a blessing in case of limescale.

All you have to do, therefore, is first remove the water from the toilet with a plunger or a towel and then sprinkle the black bottom with baking soda.

At this point, also pour white vinegar over the top, let it sit for at least two hours or overnight and scrub the bottom with a clean brush. Finally, just flush the toilet and… the black in your toilet will be just a bad memory! Moreover, these two ingredients can also be used together to unclog clogged sinks!

Note : there is a long debate about the use of vinegar in drains because of its not exactly ecological impact on the environment, although it is by far less polluting than many detergents available on the market.

Citric acid
As an alternative to vinegar, you can use citric acid, which is considered a natural descaler that can also thoroughly clean washing machines and dishwashers. Here too, therefore, we recommend that you first dry the toilet bowl with a plunger to allow the citric acid to adhere well to the bottom of the toilet without being diluted with water.

Then dissolve 150 grams of citric acid in 1 litre of hot water, pour the resulting mixture into the toilet and leave it to act for a few hours. Then scrub with the toilet brush or a brush and rinse: your toilet will be as good as new!
